Speedflex Q&A – Victoria Barker

Speedflex Q&A – Victoria Barker

Friday 28th September 2018

From dining with Beyonce to exploring Tokyo, Victoria, Speedflex Trainer in Wilmslow, steps up to take part in our Q&A!

Who is your hero/who do you look up to?

My parents, amongst others. My heroes change on a daily basis, but they all stand up for what they believe in and make changes in the world where we need it most.

Where in the world would you most like to visit?

I’d love to go back to Japan and revisit Tokyo, it’s an amazing place and having been lucky enough to go before there are so many more places in the city I’d like to have the opportunity to explore.

What’s your favourite film and song?

As a HIIT trainer, I have a short attention span, so films aren’t my thing… I love all music though.

If you could have any job in the world, which one would you choose?

I would be a singer, I think you can be anything you want to be, but you can’t be a singer if you can’t sing. I absolutely cannot sing, but I own it.

What’s the best piece of advice anybody has given you?

To look after myself before I take care of others. I strongly believe that you cannot pour from an empty cup; that you have to make sure that you are fit, healthy and happy before you can provide support to other people.

If you were stranded on a desert island and you could choose three things to have, what would they be?

My two kids and my husband would have to come with me, and I would also take tonnes of coffee, my yoga mat and mascara.

You’re hosting a dinner party and can invite any three people (dead or alive) who would you invite and why?

I can’t cook so I would have to add a great chef to the guest list first. Queen Bey would have to come and Barack Obama. I’m pretty sure they know each other so the chat would be good.

What one item would you want to save if your house was on fire?

My phone for sure. I am a total, unashamed phone addict, and although I can put it down regularly and take a tech detox, I can’t deal without it day-to-day. My family don’t live close by and I like to know that I can be reached if I am needed.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I could literally eat pasta for the rest of my life, I lived and worked in Italy and fell in love with the culture, food and people. Carb loader for life.

For you, what’s the best thing about training at Speedflex?

I became a personal trainer to help people achieve their goals and become the best version of them they could possibly be. It makes me so happy to see the members at Speedflex Wilmslow transform throughout their journey from nervous and excited in their taster session to confident and strong in just a few sessions. Watching friendships grow between members is also heart warming and all the trainers at Speedflex Wilmslow work hard to create a great training atmosphere.
