Exercise that leaves no one behind

Exercise should be challenging, not punishing. Yet for many people, traditional high-intensity training can feel punishing, intimidating or simply out of reach.

At Speedflex, we believe exercise should work for more people. We combine functional training with adaptive resistance to deliver effective, full-body workouts that respond to individual effort. An athlete looking to push their limits has very different needs from someone returning to exercise or an older adult looking to maintain their strength and independence. But Speedflex brings them together on the same machine, each working at their own level.

The result? A more accessible approach to fitness that helps more people build fitness and make exercise a lasting part of life.

The people behind Speedflex

Speedflex was formed in 2011 by a collective of sporting and business leaders who shared a vision for a different approach to exercise.

  • Sir Graham Wylie — Chairman

Co-founder of The Sage Group, Graham served as its Managing Director for more than a decade before going on to build and manage other successful businesses. He also supports charitable causes through The Graham Wylie Foundation, which works with children and young people in challenging and vulnerable circumstances.

  • Paul Ferris — CEO

    Paul Ferris — CEO

Paul was Newcastle United’s youngest-ever player before a career-ending injury led him into physiotherapy. He spent 13 years in the role at the club, helping rehabilitate some of football’s leading players. He has since qualified as a barrister and is a natural storyteller and multi-award-winning author. A survivor of both prostate cancer and a heart attack, Paul has seen the demands of elite performance and the challenges of recovery first-hand, giving him a uniquely relevant perspective on leading Speedflex as CEO.

  • Alan Shearer — Co-owner

One of English football’s most celebrated strikers, Alan Shearer played for Newcastle United from 1996 to 2006, captained England and became the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, a record he still holds. Since retiring from professional football, he has remained a prominent voice in the game. As a co-owner of Speedflex and an avid user of the system, Alan brings a personal connection to the brand and its approach to fitness.

A shared vision

The story of Speedflex began with a chance encounter between businessman Graham Wylie and Paul Ferris at a social event. Recognising an opportunity to bring together their experience in sport, performance, rehabilitation and entrepreneurship, they set out to take an inclusive approach to exercise.

Their shared vision laid the foundations for Speedflex in 2011, with a clear ambition: to make effective training accessible to more people, at every stage of life.
