FAQs
Speedflex BLADE
Absolutely. The BLADE is designed for all fitness levels, including complete beginners. Its adaptive resistance responds to the amount of force you apply, meaning you control the intensity of your workout. Beginners and experienced exercisers can train on the same machine at their own level.
The BLADE delivers a high-intensity, low-impact workout designed to minimise the muscle soreness often associated with high-intensity training. You can expect to work hard, but without the same impact on your body as traditional high-intensity exercise.
The BLADE is much more than cardio. It combines cardiovascular conditioning with full-body resistance training, allowing you to push, pull and work multiple muscle groups while getting your heart rate up. Unlike a treadmill, the BLADE uses adaptive resistance that responds to your effort, giving you a truly full-body workout.
The BLADE has a compact footprint of approximately 0.85m wide by 2.2m long, making it ideal for both gym floors and home environments. We recommend allowing additional space around the machine for safe and comfortable use.
The BLADE uses Speedflex’s adaptive resistance. It responds to the force you apply, so the harder you work, the more resistance you feel. Ease off and it drops. There are no weights to load or swap. If you want more, the resistance dials control the upward and downward parts of each movement separately, so you can make either one harder or easier.
Yes. The BLADE includes JNRZ, a programme made for young people aged 10 and over. The guided, age-appropriate workouts play straight from the BLADE’s built-in tablet. There’s no weight stack and no heavy weights to lift. The BLADE’s adaptive resistance responds to the user’s own effort, and two simple dials let you set the resistance for pushing up and pulling down. An adult can set these before the workout starts.
An active subscription gives you access to the full library of on-demand workouts, training content and features available through the BLADE. You can subscribe to the workout library for £300/year.

The BLADE is designed to be accessible to a wide range of users, but it isn’t suitable for everyone. If you have an injury, medical condition or any concerns about exercising, you should seek appropriate medical advice before using the BLADE. Always follow the safety guidance provided with the equipment.
Speedflex Studio Machine
Yes. Speedflex works for every fitness level, including complete beginners. There are no weights to choose. The resistance responds to your effort, and if you’re new, your coach will start you on a low dial setting so you can build up gradually.
You control the intensity. Speedflex can deliver a challenging, high-intensity workout while remaining low impact. The adaptive resistance is designed to minimise post-workout muscle soreness, so you can achieve a serious workout without the same level of impact associated with many traditional HIIT workouts.
The Studio Machine uses Speedflex’s adaptive resistance. The harder you push or pull, the more resistance you feel. Ease off and it drops. The up and down dials let you adjust the resistance, so everyone in the class can work at their own level without changing any weights.
Both machines use Speedflex’s unique adaptive resistance technology to deliver a full-body, high-intensity, low-impact workout.
The BLADE is an individual connected machine, ideal for the gym floor or home, with an integrated touchscreen offering guided and on-demand workouts.
The Studio Machine is designed specifically for a coach-led group training environment. Multiple machines can be used together to create an energetic, structured Speedflex class, combining the benefits of personalised resistance with the motivation and atmosphere of group training.
Yes. Young people aged 10 and over can take part in coach-led classes which have been specifically designed to provide age-appropriate training.
Speedflex uses adaptive resistance rather than traditional weight stacks, so there are no heavy weights for children to select or lift. JNRZ provides guided workouts designed to help young people develop fitness, movement skills and confidence in an engaging environment.
Children should follow the guidance of the Speedflex coach or instructor and any supervision requirements set by the individual facility.
Speedflex is available at a growing number of gyms and leisure facilities across the UK. Find your nearest Speedflex location and discover where you can experience a Speedflex class.
Speedflex is designed to be inclusive, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone. Anyone with an injury, medical condition or other concern about exercising should seek appropriate medical advice before taking part. Participants should always follow the instructions of their Speedflex instructor and the safety guidance provided by the facility.
